What inspires you to create?

I love going to visit my mom! Her home is filled with antiques and wonderful primitive displays. It's funny how things inspire us to create something new!  I love this little carpenters box and just had to snap a picture!  I usually take my camera with me but I forgot it! Fortunately, my phone was able to capture the appeal of this little treasure!
I posted it on Facebook and someone said they used something like this for their wool strips while hooking a rug!  The little bulb came on!!!!!  Yes, it would be perfect for keeping the colors separated while hooking!  My husbands woodworking list just got longer! I need one of these a bit larger than this antique piece!
Please share what type of things inspired your last creation!!!  I would love to hear about it!!!

  3. What a beautiful scene. I love that little blue dress. The stories behind the items are inspiring to me. Who wore that little thing? Did she/he like blue or was it a hand-me-down that wasn't admired by the wearer? Was she a sweetie or a little tomboy? All that - just love it.

  4. I love that box. I may have to dust off my saw too. I always just love seeing other's work, what they do inspires me, esp. if it involves gardens, crocks, old books, quilt scraps, etc. The colors of things are what get my mind churning. I love this photo of yours, love the blue of the dress too.
