Pictures from the Woolen Willow Hooking Retreat!

I'm still trying to get back to my daily work routine since returning from another fun filled and relaxing rug hooking retreat at the Blackwater Falls Lodge in WV!  Jeni and Sally from the Woolen Willow sure do a great job at hosting a relaxing time with a large group of ladies who all share the love of quilting, hooking and appliqueing!
This is my new project which will find a home on my wall hopefully real soon! I started it at the retreat but ran out of black wool so didn't quite get it finished!  It's an Anne-tiques pattern by Anne Nichols!  Anne has such beautiful designs and her patterns come to you, ready to hook, in the neatest form possible!  I loved the colors she used on her model so I tried to pull the wool, with the help of my friend Kathy, in similar colors! Loving it!

Here is Karen Martinsen of KM Primitives, myself and Lisa George of FireFly Fields!

Here are just a few of the wonderful hand mades being created this weekend!
Diana's detailed proud Rooster!  She uses a tiny worm in a #4 cut!

Linda of Grant Street Woolworks took a break from rug hooking and played with her tiny little iron making tiny little quilt patches!

Genny started a beautiful rug!

Margo making a matching step riser for her chair pad!  She also uses a tiny size cut!

Joanne was working on Christmas trees!  She will back these with wool and mount them to old spools!  So cute!

This was beautiful!  I was being called the roving reporter but didn't make a good one because I did not write down names!!!  I'm not sure who this is!  I did get permission to post the picture online though! She put a crocheted edge on this!

And here are our sweet hosts from the Woolen Willow!  Sally has been working on this hooked piece for 15 years she said! Such a funny lady!  I did see that the pattern is from 2000 so its only been 14! LOL  She did make a bit of progress so hopefully next year she will have it complete!

Here is Jeni working on the hooked rug she offered as a class at the retreat!  She "hooked" some new ladies on rug hooking!

Here we have the owner of The Hen House of Charlotte!  This table had some beautiful wool creations!

And look at these awesome tapestry bags they got together and made!  LOVE!!!

Blogger is giving me grief so I will add more pictures of the retreat another day!  Enjoy!
